My Favorite Southern NH Locations for Portrait Sessions

One of the most common things I am sending my clients is a list of possible locations for their portrait session. From family portraits to engagements, maternity and more - Southern NH is FULL of some of the prettiest locations and stunning backdrops.

Each client has a different vision for their photos, so of course I keep a whole arsenal of locations based on what they are looking for, for example - beaches and the coast to woodsy pathways or downtown streets.

I've been lucky enough to photograph so many spots around Southern NH, but below are a few of my favorite Southern NH locations for portrait sessions from the past few years.

  1. Wagon Hill Farm, Durham NH - this spot has a little bit of everything! The walking paths range from tall grasses to the woods, and they even lead out to views of the ocean. It is beautiful in any season, and I love that pets are welcome!

  2. Benson Park, Hudson NH - I could spend HOURS here. There's a range of backdrops from woodsy pathways to a cute little pond. You can spread out from others because its so big, and pets are welcome!

  3. Wason Pond, Chester NH - this quaint little pond is a hidden gem. With a adorable covered bridge and cute pathways its a perfect secluded area for photos. And dogs are welcome too!

  4. Odiorne Point State Park, Rye NH - During summer seasons there is a fee to park here (I think it was like $8) but boy is it worth it! There are some of my favorite pathways along a rocky beach on the ocean.. overgrown with beautiful vegetation too. There's SO many backdrops, that is why it's one of my favorites! Plus, make your way to the beach too!

  5. Downtown Portsmouth/Prescott Park - if you haven't been to downtown Portsmouth, you're missing out! It's got an old time feel and is right on the water. It can obviously be busier so if you're not up for crowds it may not be for you.

  6. Zorvino Vineyards, Sandown NH - this place is so cute!! Plus you can grab a glass of wine after your session ;) Lots of greenery and a large gazebo too.

  7. Hampton Beach, Hampton NH - the perfect beach vibes! Peak hours during the summer can get busy but if you're willing to work around it, it can be worth it!

I have a TON more where these came from, so if something here doesn't check off the boxes you're looking for, reach out! If you're looking to get some portraits done this year, let's book a session!

Until next time, live creatively friends.
