Summertime Lighthouse Engagement Session with Emily and Matt, August 2020

Updated: Feb 23, 2021

Emily and Matt's engagement was so much fun! I felt like we got to break out and pretend that COVID wasn't happening for an hour or so. Of course, we were safe, but when you meet at a lighthouse in Maine that early in the morning before the crowds, things almost seem normal!

Emily and Matt reached out to me after connecting at a bridal show a few months earlier. They had recently moved to Maine and were interested in booking me for wedding photography and decided to add an engagement session to that. I LOVE when that works out :)

Plus, Portland Head Light is one of my favorite spots, so when Emily asked if I would go, of course I said yes! We met early in the morning, which also helps to beat the heat, and boy was it worth it. We had almost the whole park to ourselves to play around. Both Emily and Matt were so go with the flow, and trusted everyone one of my ideas. I learned so much about their love story, from college until now, and how their wedding planning was going.

It is so much fun to connect with couples before their big day for sessions like this. This engagement session did not disappoint. I could see how Emily and Matt's love has lasted through the years, and it made me that much more excited for their wedding in April.

This session was so perfect from the start, with views of Portland Head Light - to the finish and barefoot walks on the beach. Thanks Matt and Emily!

Until next time friends, live creatively.
