Front Porch Session with the Schmidt/Natalicchio Family, October 2020
Updated: Mar 13
I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that I got to photograph this family. A very big thank you Kim Izzi for connecting us! You see, Kim is a Realtor (check her out at kimizzi.com), and helped the family find their gorgeous new home in Melrose. I happened to be lucky enough to photograph them in front of the home during a Front Porch Session on a perfect fall day to commemorate such a momentous time in their lives!
I wasn't sure what to expect really, I hadn't met the Lisa or Alex, and only had a few emails back and forth to go by. They were SO sweet, a bit nervous at first but once they loosened up we had a blast with the session. You could see how excited the kids were about their new home. All you had to ask was a few questions to really get them busting out of their shells.
I used my good old "competition" trick with the kids.. friendly competition of course! We had to see who could give me their best smile! I think they might still be waiting to see who the winner is..
They were like typical siblings, even reminded me of my brother and I as a matter of fact. Deep down you really love each other and love playing with each other, but at this age you have to be silly and give each other a hard time. Their photos together are my favorite from this session because their laughter is so genuine. There is no hiding the fact that the love having fun together.
Alex and Lisa were so easy going, the best sort of portrait session. We had fun with it, challenged the kids, laughed along the way and got some great photos at their new home.
I am so thankful that Kim connected me with this sweet family, and so grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know them! Lisa and Alex, thank you so much for letting me photograph your family and document this occasion and you at your new home. Your family is so special, and I feel so grateful to have gotten to know you all. I wish you all the best in your new home, and I hope to connect with you in the future! And maybe next time we'll have the results of the smiling contest ;)
Until next time, live creatively friends.
