RESOLUTIONS? OR MAYBE JUST SOLUTIONS

Updated: Feb 7, 2021

This year we have BIG plans. We want to continue to grow Captured to be the one stop art shop for our customers. There is still SO much work to be done. And we are ready to take on the new year! With a smile of course.

Now, we don’t want to sit here and bore you with our business and personal goals for this upcoming year. But we did want to share with you how we sat down, took some time to reflect, and created new goals for ourselves for this trip around the sun.

The biggest, and in our opinion, most important part about setting new goals is self reflection. We took the time to sit back and think about 2018. What did we do right? What did we do wrong? And what did we do REALLY wrong? There are only lessons to be learned here. The sooner you recognize what you may have done wrong, the sooner you know exactly where there is room for improvement. Make a list. Seriously, write these down. The good, the bad, the ugly, all of it. In our opinion, when things are written down, they are real. They are permanent.

Next, decide how you can use these rights and wrongs in your business or personal life in the upcoming year. Set goals based on these points you have written down. Write down the steps of where you may have gone wrong and how you can change them to be right. There are no true mistakes if there are lessons learned.

Take these steps and turn them into real actions. Make a list of how you will accomplish these goals. Start smaller and work your way up to the bigger picture. It is important to remember that setting unrealistic goals is just setting yourself up for failure. Make small, obtainable goals. You will be able to look back and see that these small goals turned into bigger picture. Those little goals add up. So don’t overdue it.

Don't be ashamed to have some goals similar to those of last year. Maybe you didn't accomplish everything you wanted to last year, and that's okay. Put it back on your list and make it a point to accomplish it this year. Maybe you did accomplish a goal last year, but you want to add to it. Great! Create steps to achieving the goals.

Don’t overthink it either. Setting goals is simple. No goal is too small. Make checklists, check in with yourself regularly, have an accountability partner, anything that helps keep you on track to accomplishing those goals.

Take it one step at a time. Work hard. Stay focused. And success will come. We wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year filled with milestones galore.

Live creatively, friends.
